Dear Chang Chun, It is with a deep sense of anticipation and pride that we have officially opened Adelaide University to the world and I have begun my tenure as Vice Chancellor. Over the past two years, Tirkangkaku's early foundations have been shaped by our communities, including our founding alumni from our remarkable antecedent institutions. Thank you for your support and contribution to the establishment of a strong foundation for Adelaide University. I have commenced at a time of great renewal and growth, and with the deepest sense of optimism as we begin our formative years and establish Adelaide University not only as a new university, but as a new kind of university. We have an extraordinary opportunity ahead of us. Adelaide University has been created to serve with purpose, focused on the expansion of opportunity in all its forms. We will give new expression to what it means to be a university of and for its place. We will demonstrate that teaching and research, excellence and equity, and student experience and scale are mutually supportive, redefining what a leading Australian university with a global mindset stands for.
