The Adelaide University logo is based on a monogram of our initials, tilted forward to convey momentum and future focus with an angle that echoes the Adelaide Festival Centre – the beating cultural heart of our home city. The monogram balances stability with agility, drawing from the rich heritage of both founding universities. Its curvature and shape reflect the broader state of South Australia with harmony and openness.
The colours within our brand expression also help to tell a story. Dark blue honours our shared heritage and inspires trust. Our accent colour, North Terrace purple, represents optimism, wisdom and independence. Bright blue is future facing – digital first and vivid. South East limestone is grounding with a nod to the regions and our beautiful buildings along North Terrace, while adding warmth, humanity and balance.
As we embark on this next chapter, with international admissions now open for students to commence in 2026, we are reminded of the significant impact that Adelaide University will have on future generations of contemporary learners, researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs. A place where excellence and equity co-exist, it is estimated that Adelaide University's activities will contribute $4.7 billion a year to the Australian economy. It will also be home to more than 400,000 alumni from 150 countries, creating a connected community around the world. Its combined strength is undeniable.
As Australia's University of Enterprise, the University of South Australia will continue to proudly acknowledge and celebrate the institution's achievements and honour its foundations on which the new Adelaide University stands. We hope that you will continue to be part of this journey as we seize this important opportunity to launch brighter futures for the State and nation – and to create a strong affiliation and affinity to the new institution that we can all be truly proud of.
With best regards,
David and Peter co-Vice Chancellors, Adelaide University |
