Elders Speak: What Is the Future of Aboriginal Education? Panel Discussion Thursday, 18 March 2021 6.00pm to 7.30pm (ACDT) Join our panel of experts to discuss the need for a two-way education system that recognises and respects the cultures, languages and identities of Aboriginal children and young people. Presented by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre and Office of the Pro Vice Chancellor: Aboriginal Leadership and Strategy, UniSA, this panel discussion is an opportunity to hear about local and national issues of significance, and the extensive work of the Panellists to inform public knowledge and awareness. Panellists will include University of South Australia Professors and members of Purkarninthi, the UniSA Elders in Residence. More information here.

West End Opening Weekend Saturday, 27 February 2021 2.30pm to 5.30pm (ACDT) Hear from the artists and witness performances within the 2021 Adelaide//International, four exhibitions that draw upon the communal, the potential and the alternative to consider the collective actions that are carrying us forward to a shared future. CONTACT Monday, 1 February – Friday, 26 March 2021 Curated by South Australian artist Elyas Alavi and commissioned and presented by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre, CONTACT brings together a group of emerging artists exploring the themes of identity, politics, race, migration and modern slavery through photography, painting, installation and video. Although each artist has a different experience, they have a shared understanding. Their practice engages in a process of auto-ethnography, where they connect their personal history and circumstances to broader cultural, social and political concerns. Reset: Restoring Australia After The Pandemic Recession Thursday, 4 March 2021 6.00pm to 7.15pm (ACDT) Join The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre for an In-Conversation and Book Launch of Reset: Restoring Australia after the Pandemic Recession, written by Ross Garnaut AC. In this event the renowned economist will discuss how the COVID-19 crisis offers Australia the opportunity to reset its economy and build a successful future – and why the old approaches will not work. MOD.'s New Exhibition: IT'S COMPLICATED February – November 2021 10.00am to 4.00pm, Tuesday – Saturday (ACDT) MOD.'s new exhibition IT'S COMPLICATED explores Dynamic Interconnectedness. It's complicated. Actually, it's complex. Problems in complex systems are trickier to solve. Even well-thought out solutions can have unexpected and unintended consequences. Like trying to wipe out malaria but ending up with parachuting cats. Join us to raise a Tamagotchi-inspired octopus, build robots and hack the immune system. IT'S COMPLICATED pulls back the curtain on the seemingly simple and reveals just how complicated, and complex, the world can be. More information here.

Explore the Cosmos at the Adelaide Planetarium Reopens February 2021 The Mawson Lakes Campus' Adelaide Planetarium offers visitors the unique opportunity to stargaze without having to brave the elements. Journey through the pages of new stories with the unique full-dome ceiling and experience an adventure like no other, with events like Rooftop Star Disc Nights and Women in Astronomy, a tribute to female leaders in the science of astronomy. AIA's Gold Medal Tour: Architect John Wardle Thursday, 25 February 2021 5.30pm to 7.30pm (ACDT) Australia's peak body for the architecture profession, the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA), awarded its highest honour to UniSA Adjunct Professor and practising architect, John Wardle. UniSA will host the 2020 Gold Medal recipient John Wardle, 'the architect's architect', as he discusses his practice and design ethos, who the Jury said had "restored faith in what architects do best – the design of buildings that function well and please hand and eye". 7th Frontiers in Environmental Law Colloquium Thursday 25 February – Friday, 26 February 2021 Environmental law is wide-ranging in its scope and ambitions drawing from diverse legal traditions and techniques as well as multi-disciplinary and theoretical knowledge. UniSA Justice & Society's School of Law presents this online forum for academics and practitioners to share and discuss their experiences, research, and teaching practices on environmental law, engaging with the ideas of frontiers and boundaries. Jesse Jones: Tremble, Tremble Friday, 26 February – Thursday, 1 April 2021 Created by Ireland's Jesse Jones at the height of the abortion referendum, Tremble, Tremble takes as its starting point the protest chant of Italian women in the 1970s: "Tremble, tremble, the witches are back!" 2021 Adelaide//International is presented as part of the Adelaide Festival. History of Australian Industrial Relations Through to 30 April 2021 The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre's Kerry Packer Civic Gallery is currently exhibiting an exploration of Australia's industrial relations from the colonial period to the present day, with a focus on Bob Hawke's impact on industrial relations in Australia through his work at the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) and as Prime Minister of Australia.
