Recognising the past through nature, art and song
Once home to children of the Stolen Generation, today Colebrook is "a place of healing and learning", the story of which is told in a film which was shown at the 2022 Cannes Short Film Festival. The film is an initiative of the Blackwood Reconciliation Group which began as a study group in the 1990s and today works with past residents of Colebrook Home to inform the next generation. here...

You can still register to join the Charlie's Rainbow Move Challenge for the month of February. Set your own goals and choose how you want to proceed. Just do more exercise than you usually would, meet other participants and be supported by professional trainers via social media. Go for a walk, ride a bike, kick the footy, go to the gym, take the stairs and raise funds for research into Paediatric Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML). Donate to a participant or sign up yourself anytime in February, just get on board!
Wednesday 8 February >> Freedom, Only Freedom: Behrouz Boochani In-Conversation with Professor Peter Greste
Join The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre for an in-conversation with Kurdish-Iranian writer, journalist, scholar, cultural advocate, filmmaker, and former Manus Island detainee, Behrouz Boochani, who will discuss his second book, Freedom, Only Freedom: The Prison Writings of Behrouz Boochani. In his first and only Adelaide event, Behrouz Boochani will be in conversation with award-winning journalist Professor Peter Greste, with an introductory presentation delivered by Freedom, Only Freedom editor and long-term translator/collaborator Dr Omid Tofighian.

Sanaa Exhibition returns to The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre's Kerry Packer Civic Gallery with another eclectic and vibrant exhibition, co-presented with Sanaa: A Better World Through Creativity. This exhibition aims to facilitate intercultural understanding by providing a platform to artists from culturally diverse backgrounds, and will feature an exciting mix of globally recognised names from Uganda, Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya alongside locally based emerging artists.
Thursday 23 February >> Chasing Dreams: Lookslike Avido
David Avido (known as Lookslike Avido) is a self-taught fashion designer, humanitarian and entrepreneur. Highlighted by Beyonce on her "Black is King" campaign as one of the African artists changing the world, David's work has been featured in Vogue USA and Italia. In this presentation, David will share with audiences more about his journey, his fashion label, his foundation and the impact he hopes to have in this world. Presented by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre and Sanaa: A Better World Through Creativity.

Presented by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre, in arrangement with WOMADelaide Festival's Planet Talks Program. Professor Chris Daniels, Professor of Biology at the University of South Australia will be in-conversation with entrepreneur Steve Meller and Associate Professor Catriona MacLeod, Head of the Ecology and Biodiversity Centre within Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies, University of Tasmania. They will discuss the multiple new applications and industries around seaweed in Australia, seaweed remediation and cultivation, reducing methane emissions and what are the roadblocks across policy and skill set.
